I hate sewage problems...

So apparently Dad didn't fix the problem with the toilet...apparently it's not just the downstairs toilet...apparently it's the whole sewage system...and apparently it's much, much more serious than he thought. I feel like we live in a cave - we can't wash our hands, and we might need to start using the restroom in a BUCKET! Ewww...
Well, at least it's a cave with a computer! :)

Change of subject...

So as a new "good-bye" saying, what do you guys think about "Ciao, amigas?"
It has a rather nice ring to it, don't you think? :)

I don't have much to say, so...

Ciao, amigas!
~Jordan~ :)

P.S. Sorry if this post grossed you guys out...

Happy New Year!

I have never talked on the phone for so long! I talked almost an hour and a half (maybe more!) with Chaunicie on the phone today. We talked about everything, from nicknames to school to ballet! I am so happy to have a good friend up here in the mountains. :)

Right now the toilets and water aren't working SO...we might have to stay the night at a neighbor's house. My dad is talking to Uncle Larry right now...Uncle Larry's a plumber, so let's hope he can help from all the way down in San Lorenzo.

So I passed all of my midterm exams with a B or higher!!! :) Hooray; I am very excited! And I passed all of my subjects for this semester with A's and one A+ (in Spanish!). I am so excited to be taking Drama next semester...which starts soon!

So what resolution are you going to make for the new year? I am going to try to remember to read my Bible every day and to practice ballet at least every other day. I'm usually not good at keeping resolutions; I'll try harder this year!

2009 - it sounds so grand, doesn't it? :)

Porkchops,
Jordan
P.S. I really think I need a new good-bye saying...so please leave a comment suggesting what I should use. Also, please comment on your New Year's resolution, if you're making one!

Happy Holidays!

Merry (Belated) Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

Ahh...I Love Sparkles

I am seriously getting tired of the same old-same old purple font. I think teal will be a nice, refreshing change...like when someone gets a glass of ice cold water on a hot Summer day.

Same with the background. Even though I only had the red and green reindeer background for about two weeks, it got old quickly. I love sparkles so much better!

Tomorrow is The Nutcracker dress rehearsal. I am very excited! I will tell you all about it (and the actual performance on Saturday and Sunday) as soon as possible,

Please tell me what you think of my new updates to my blog! I'd love some comments!

Oh, and in case anybody wanted to know, I have passed all of my classes with an A or higher...except Pre. Algebra. Mrs. Kobza hasn't recorded the final grade before winter break yet. I'll tell you as soon as I know!

Thank you for reading this post, if you did, as I very rarely post on my blog.

Lo Siento

Why don't I post anymore? Because I don't have time because I'm always very busy with homework because I am perfectionist that WON'T LEAVE ANY ASSIGNMENT ALONE until it is as perfect as possible.

Then why do I have time to write this post? Because I need help with science and history and English because it is too hard because it just is!

How many "because's" can you have in one post? Lots!!

It SNOWED last night and it is gorgeous outside because the ground and trees and everything is covered with snow! :) Too bad I can't play in it BECAUSE I have homework to do! We will be have flurries all day, possibly all week...hooray!!

(P.S. If anybody really cares, "Lo Siento" means "I'm sorry" in Spanish. Why didn't I just say "I'm sorry?" BECAUSE I didn't want to!!!)

Errg...I'm really just posting a whole bunch of nothing with lots of because's because I love because's today.

Rylie is now rubbing (not literally) a banana-chocolate-chip muffin in my face and saying "Look what I have!" Well guess what, Rylie??? I already had a banana-chocolate-chip muffin AND a chocolate candy. SO THERE! :)

Mom did lots of baking yesterday, so now the kitchen is full of banana-chocolate-chip-bread (and muffins) and pretzels dipped in chocolate and chocolate candy. And it looks so tempting. :)

It is midterm exam week. AAUUUUUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On Tuesday I have two tests, on Thursday I have two tests, and I have a BIG English project due on Tuesday or Thursday...Mrs. Phelan is going to decide who presents their project on each day.

What do you do with a little sister that is constantly wanting to read your blog posts AND emails? She usually is kind enough to ask, but even then she sometimes reads them anyway despite my "NO".

Pictures!

Top: (L to R) Alexis, Rylie, Kylie, Me, Chaunicie. We're at the basketball game.

Bottom: I was aiming for a firebird (in honor of my school), but I guess I'll have to settle for a rubber chicken. lol!

Believe me, I would post more pictures, but you know what happened last time...
I also wish I could make it look a little nicer,
but oh well. If I can deal with a rubber chicken pumpkin, I can handle a messy blog post.

Today is Picture Day!

Today is going to be a major picture day. I am going to post as many pictures as possible - my October school dance, basketball game, Halloween, etc.

Now all I have to do is to get Dad to transfer the photos from one computer to the other...hmm...
Well, I'll let him do that now...so I'll post the photos soon.

I Have Not Written For the Longest Time...

Wow - I haven't written since the 1st of September!! WOW!! Sorry I've neglected it. During that time, I had my school dance, got an A+ on a really big English assignment, and so on and so forth. Anyway, let's start with my dance.

Rylie, Dad, Mom, and I arrived early so we could set up the decorations. Then Dad and Rylie left, but Mom stayed to chaperon. After 7:00, people started trickling in, and then all of a sudden - POOF! - tons of people showed up!
Mr. Harris, our principal, was playing songs for group dances. (Nope, no slow dances yet) Everyone was having a blast! I was jumping up and down with my friends.

Then Mr. Harris said, "I need a volunteer." So this guy named Nick volunteered. Then Mr. Harris taught everybody the salsa! It was fun, and girls danced with girls and boys danced with boys. I enjoyed dancing with my friend Leah - but she couldn't get the hang of the salsa to save her life! :-)
Later, Mr. Harris announced, "Let's see if you can beat your old man in a 7 minute pogo dance!" So he played Rock Lobster and we (the kids AND Mr. Harris) jumped for the whole dance. Well, at least some did. I did, for one! And boy, was I exhausted by the end of that dance! :-)
I had heard Thriller was going to be played, so I was waiting anxiously for it. We saw the whole 12 minute music video. I'd seen it before, so it didn't creep me out. Some of my friends really didn't like it though. It was so hilarious to watch the boys - whenever something scary came onto the screen, they jokingly screamed at the top of their lungs in "fear". One boy named Soren mockingly grabbed his friend, crying, "Save me!" And the girls? They looked at each other with very puzzled expressions on their faces! :-)
Then, when the school dance was almost over, everybody starting chanting, "Slow dance! Slow dance! Slow dance!" So Mr. Harris put on some slow music & most of the kids coupled up. I didn't dance with anybody. Well, I almost danced with somebody, but a girl named Angie intervened. Angie is in 10th grade and was trying to couple the people who weren't dancing. But I have to rewind a little bit for you to get this...
Mom saw Nick stand up from his chair and walk over to my direction, like he was going to ask me to dance. But then Angie steps in. She grabs Nick by the arm and then grabs me and pulls us to each other and says, "Dance." Then she walks away. That was really awkward. So Nick said, "Bye!" and walked away. Angie was trying to help, but she was being rude, even though she didn't mean to.

So that was my school dance story. I will try to write more often from now own!

It's Mom's super-belated birthday today.

And we're taking her somewhere to eat.

Jodi is lying down. She looks cute.

Dad's talking about crab and food and stuff.

The computer is humming.

Mom's talking about some Italian resturant.

Rylie is taking a shower.

School + Jodi + Awanas

Hi, everybody! So school has started for me, and exciting things are already happening! For example...

1. I have a perfect score in Pre. Algebra.
2. I'm making lots of new friends!
3. My history class is going to put on little skits for our class about Ancient Rome.
4. Almost all the kids at school seem to be Christians!

So is school going great for you? Hope so, 'cause it's going great for me!

Jodi has become our mini, not-so-ferocious guard dog. Rylie got this butterfly container net thingy for her birthday, and she laid it on the ground...Jodi started barking at it! It was SO cute! Jodi always enjoyed scaring the vacuum as I vacuumed the stairs today. :-)

I have a science test coming up tomorrow, so please wish me luck! I'm trying to bring my science grade up from an....NO ROXY!!!!...sorry. Roxy was just abot to jump onto my desk, covered with important homework assignements, books I study with...okay. Back to what I was saying. I'm trying to bring my science grade up from an A- to at least an A. An A- isn't that bad, but I still would like a little better grade.

Now I have an important question: To be or not to be (an Awanas leader)? Rylie will be going to a small group at church that night and I can usually get my homework done before Awanas begins...now here's my second question: if I do Awanas, should I help out with the little kids or the Kindergarteners? Please help!

Anyway, I think I should be done talking now.
Porkchops! (My new good-bye saying)

Rylie's Luau/Nutcracker Cast List

Rylie had a blast at her luau, but she definitely had some trouble being with all of her friends. She had invited so many people from different areas - from church, from dance classes, from Tracy...anyway, it was fun.
She got THREE Webkins altogether (and one looks like Brandi!), and had a blast going through this American Girl activity book she got from Madison & Hanna. Madison and Hanna stayed afterwards and we had pizza and played lots of Nintendo games! We even put on a little skit for our parents. (Which is no surprise. We put on skits every single time we get together.)

And now...the moment you've all been waiting for...THE NUTCRACKER CAST LIST CAME OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could not stop squealing and screaming when I saw it on the email inbox! So here are our roles:

Rylie: Wind-Up Doll, Chinese Tea, Rose
Comments: Rylie really wanted to be a wind-up doll, and so she's really happy she got the role! She has been Chinese Tea every year we've been in The Nutcracker, so she's practically memorized the dance!

Jordan: Ballerina Doll, Butterfly, Rose
Comments: I consider the Ballerina Doll a "lead role", but Mom says it really isn't. My reasons for saying it is because the Ballerina Doll gets a little solo in the doll dance. The butterfly is a new role, and I have no idea what I do there.

Ms. Deborah (my dance teacher) also wants my parents to be in The Nutcracker! She wants Mom and Dad to be party guests in the party scene and Dad to be a hip-hop dancing soldier! Dad can't dance to save his life! He won't be alone. Some of my friend's dad's are going to be a soldier as well...better sign my dad up for dance lessons!

That's about it for now. I just got an idea for a poll! Which lead role in The Nutcracker sounds most fun to be? Please vote!

Artichokes!

An odd title, I must say. But I felt like typing it. Tomatoes! Carrots! Cookies! Beach towels! Bathtub! Bananas! Monkeys! Fish!
I need to stop. Now. Before I scare you guys so much you will never visit my blog agian (which I don't want to happen). :-)
Everybody, please wish Rylie a happy birthday! She is turning ten today and her luau party is tomorrow! Natasha, her Polynesian teacher, will be performing at the party & then teaching the kids some of the dances.
Don't forget to wish Madeleine and Taylor a happy birthday, too! (Their birthday is this month, too.) They are turning 13 years old! And Mom's birthday was this month, too. It was on the 6th.
That's about all I have to tell you in this post.

Back to School Shopping Spree

Today Mom and I are going on a shopping spree for school! This is the first time I'm going to get a real backpack! I never really needed one before because I never went to public school. I'm thinking about a purple or a blue one.
Smith Flat Charter is a really good school, from the sound of it. Every 7th grader is going to get a 9th grader to help show them around the school. One of my friends who is also going to the school, Kylie, told me that John (who is somebody else I know who is also going to this school) requested one of his older sister's friends to be his "assistant." Kylie and I both want John's older sister, Angie, to help us out around the school...sigh. This is getting too complicated explaining all the names. I think I'll just move on to something more interesting...
Rylie and I were invited to a slumber party/birthday party at the house of Megan and Sarah Lightfield, two friends of ours from church. It's this Monday, and I'm excited about it! Megan and Sarah are really nice girls (Megan is a year older than me, Sarah is a year older than Rylie.). So anyway, we're going to pick up a gift for Sarah on our shopping spree today.
Now, you guys have met Jodi and Brandi, but not Roxy and Sabby, our ancient cats (Yeah, they're really old - like 17 or 18 in human years.).

Hello, I'm Sabby. I like to sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, and did I mention sleep? My special abilities are attacking Jodi and Brandi.

Hi! I'm Roxy! I enjoy eating...and eating...and eating...and eating...and eating...and eating...and eating. The dogs bully me. :-(

I'm serious about Sabby sleeping all day and Roxy's love for food (When Mom and Dad found her (or rather, she found them) she was a kitten and my parents fed her...and eventually she became our little kitty!)

Pictures Galore!

Here is Taylor and me. This is when they came for Christmas. We put on a really awesome skit. I would have added a picture of the skit, but it was way to hard to make it work. In fact, this single post probably took 20 minutes or so to create!!!!

This is everybody. (Top to bottom, left to right) Madison, Jordan, Madeleine, Rylie,Hanna, Blake. By the way, this picture was taken at my 12th birthday party.

Jodi and Brandi

Here is the much-awaited picture of Jodi (right) and Brandi (left).
The rope in the picture we had to get rid of a long time ago because they chewed it to shreds.
Brandi is now 1 year old and Jodi is about 12 weeks. I wish we had a more recent picture of Jodi on the computer, but we don't.
Let's learn a little bit about them:

Hi, I'm Brandi! I enjoy playing with Jodi, ripping toys to shreds, and barking at people walking by. I LOVE milk bones!

And I'm Jodi! I like playing with Brandi, sleeping on people's laps, and using the restroom on the carpet! I hate swimming in the pool.

EC Magazine

You probably saw my poll already: How much do you read your Bible? Personally, I used to never read it. But now I'm starting up again, all thanks to EC (essential connection) magazine. They have a devotion for every day of the month, along with fun stuff.
Visit their blog! www.ecmagazine.blogspot.com
One of my favorite parts of their magazine is "Snippets & Soundbites." They tell you some really interesting facts. Did you know that a NYC doorman got fired because of bad breath? Or that Tweety Bird, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck have been asked to testify in a courtroom?
Before I go, I want to remind you: I changed where I put my Poll Results. Check them to see which answers got the most votes!

Prince Caspian and Puppies

The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe was a huge hit, don't you agree? I personally loved that movie. Then all of us Narnia lovers waited expectantly for Prince Caspian, which we assumed would be as good (maybe even better!) than the first one. Too bad for us, because it isn't.
Seriously, people! This movie is NOTHING like the book! It's all war, war, war...and did I mention war? I didn't even recognize it. They made Peter very unlikeable (Too proud). And not to mention, we see Aslan for only 10 minutes or so (that's all, people!) in the movie! I hear that viewers rate it a "B" and critics rate it a "C."
If you agree or disagree with me, take the poll: Do you adore Prince Caspian or do you share my opinions? I'd like to know!
I saw Prince Caspain Saturday, the same day we got our new puppy! (Well, actually, the puppy is Rylie's responsibility.) Rylie's named her Jodi. (Her exact words to our neighbor was "Jodi - maybe." He called her J.M., and his wife M.J. ("Maybe Jodi."))
I'll post a picture of the adorable hound/shepherd mix as soon as possible!

The Nutcracker...Pure Torture!

Oh, boy. Do you guys know how hard it is for me to see the emails regarding CDT (Children's Dance Theater) auditions and not be able to go to them???? Pure, pure, pure torture. I am dying, dying, DYING to be in The Nutcracker again. (I keep, keep, keep repeating things three, three, three times. Help, help, help! I can't stop, stop, stop!)

I miss everything: the beautiful costumes, the fun rehearsals with friends...even staying up until 11:00 p.m. to practice the night before the show. AAUUGHHH!!!!!!! I might go
INSANE if I don't somehow get to perform in The Nutcracker again!!!!!!

Okay. Now that I've got that off my chest, I can act like a more reasonable and sane person. Sorry about all that, people. I loved being in CDT every year. Here are some fond memories about it:

In 2006 (the last year I was ever in The Nutcracker *sniff*), I was a wind-up doll. I wore a red tutu that stuck out in the back and was droopy in the front. Katie Low's tutu was the exact opposite. Anyway, we had these red felt stickers on our cheeks that were supposed to make us look more like a doll. They made my face itch.

I remember during rehearsal one day, something wasn't working - I don't remember what it was - and to help pass the time, I played with some of the little boy party guests. They opened up my cardboard box and stuff like that. But on the performance...

One little boy, named Shane, asked an older boy named Joey if he could open my box. I felt nervous. What if Shane opened the box...? Luckily, Joey told him not to, and he didn't. Phew!

I remember the 2005 season as well. I was the super-rush-costume change girl during the party scene. It all happened this way: I was assigned the role of an elf. During August, the only rehearsals scheduled were for party guests. Rylie was a party guest. So I was just waiting in the studio lobby, bored, and kind Ms. Deborah (dance teacher) said that I could come in and practice with them. I became a boy party guest.

Now, the children (boy and girl) party guests do a dance first, then there is a 1-minute dance for the adult party guests. Then the elves have to do a dance. I had a one minute to change from boy party guest to elf. Easier said than done, of course. I usually missed the very beginning of my elf dance.

The very first year I was in The Nutcracker I wanted to be a snowflake. This was my first year actually taking ballet (other then a ballet and tap combo class when I was 5). A snowflake is a character for advanced dancers. I chose snowflake because I thought asking for the role of Clara or Sugar Plum Fairy (lead roles) would be too much. Needless to say, I didn't get the role of a snowflake, but I contented with the roles of a girl party guest, angel, chinese dancer, and gingersnap.

Thanks for letting my pour out my sadness and memories on you.

HELP!

ANYBODY who has advice, please post a comment!
Problem: There are these two girls at church named Andy and Nicole. They always hang out together, and I want to be friends with them. I know that Nicole is nice (I've met her before), but with Andy it's a different story. I'm kind of afraid she doesn't like me.
Solution: ?????????

Some of Lyrics to The Beatles song, Help!:

Help! I need somebody.
Help! Not just anybody.
Help! You know I need someone.
Help!

When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now those days are gone I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind, and opened up the doors.

Help me if you can I'm feeling down,
And I do appreciate you being 'round,
Help me get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me?

Boy, is that true or what? The older I get the more I feel insecure.

Like It?

I was getting sick of the pink, so I thought I'd try blue. How do you like it?

Top Dance Items of the Month

Hello, all you dancers out there! I have picked out the top dance items of the month. If you want to buy these items, visit www.discountdance.com.

SHOES: H07S/H07SC I have to say, Capezio's printed FootUndeez are so cute! These are great for modern, lyrical, or jazz and come in neat patterns: Polka Dot, Leopard (Adult only), Zebra (Adult only), and Camo (Adult only).

LEOTARDS: HW732/HW732C This beautiful camisole leotard by Harmonie is one of Discount Dance's newest leotards. The child leotards come in black and lavender, but the adult leotards, as well as black, offer two of Discount Dance's newest colors: Action Blue and Vanilla.

TOPS/BOTTOMS: 200322C/200322 This skort by Frontline is so adorable! You don't need to be a dancer to wear this semi sheer outfit. The adult offers black, while the child sizes give you the choice of an adorable hot pink as well. There is a matching top with the words "DANCER" on it, but I highly doubt your parents would let you wear it because it is a racerback bra.

I always find it a treat to get a Discount Dance Supply catalog in the mail. I instantly sit down and flip through it. There are tons of new things by Discount Dance. The top items of the month aren't necessarily my favorite items, and they may not be yours, either. So check around the website and try to find your favorite shoes, leotards, and tops and bottoms!

Sorry!

Sorry, everybody! I've been busy during April, so I haven't had a chance to do my blog. I'll summarize what's been happening:
- The Disneyland trip was awesome! I rode California Screamin', Space Mountain, and all the other rollercoasters!
- I am 12 years old! I turned 12 on the 28th of April.
- I am (hopefully) going to take private lessons and take a dance camp at my old dance studio, Academy of Performing Arts, with my old dance teacher Deborah Skinner. (Did you know they moved from the West Valley Mall to Downtown Tracy? To see pictures of the new studio, visit their new website: www.apaoftracy.com)
Well, I've got something else to post so...see ya!

Distractions

"Mom, Ms. Jenkinson LOADED me with homework today. I am never going to get all of this done!"
School can easily distract us. Distract us from what? From God, of course. God is knocking on your heart right now - "Hello? Anybody home?" - and all you care about is school. I'm not saying school isn't important, but God is more important. He created learning, so you should at least spend 10 minutes a day talking to him.

"Watching TV is lots of fun. I have six favorite shows that I watch back to back to back every night."
Every night? What else could you do every night? Spend time with God, maybe?

"I really wish I could be like those girls on the cover of fashion magazines. They are so skinny and beautiful...I'm nothing like them."
Yes, you are! God didn't just throw you together. He wanted you to look the way you do. If you are complaining that you aren't skinny or beautiful enough, you are telling God that what he did isn't right...and it is.

Disneyland!!!

Jordan's List of What to Pack for Disneyland:
- Bible (to read, of course!)
- Nintendo DS (to play on the drive down - eight hours)
- Lots of Clothes (we're staying for five days)
- Lotion (I sometimes have dry hands)

I am so excited about going to Disneyland! I have already been asked to ride California Screamin', Space Mountain, and Orange Stinger. I'll try to ride those...try to get my courage up... :-)
Any more ride requests?
Take the poll on what Disneyland ride is the scariest!

Once again, I leave another super-short post. Sorry!

Getting Used to Blogging

Who knew getting a blog was so easy? All you have to do is click...click...click...and you're done. Thank you, Dad, for allowing me to have a blog!
This is going to be a short post because it is just a me-getting-used-to-blogging thing. Anyway...I'll post more in a few seconds!
