My Birthday Party!

Here are some amazing pictures from my birthday party.
I was allowed to invite a few friends over for my birthday...so anyway, enjoy!! :)

PICTURE #1: We all played the advanced version of "house", I guess. We created a whole town with shopekeeprs, a bank, robbers (lol!), a jail, a mayor, policewoman, etc. Left to right: Chaunicie, Jordan, Mahala, Megan, Rachelle, Rylie, and Rebekkah.

Here's the next picture. I got my ears pierced & hair cut that day (before my b-day party), so here's how I look now...

I wonder if I could post a video...I don't know, let me try...okay, it works, but it's taking a very long time for load a 3-second short.

In this video, I think we were playing "Truth or Dare"; I don't know.

Well anyway, THANKS FOR READING!!!!

American Idol - What I Think

So I know that we're already down in the top 2, but I just wanted to make it known what I think about the Top 5. (by the way, I don't know who made it to the top 2, so DON'T TELL ME!)

My opinion of who will win American Idol season 8? Well, I'll use a list...

~ Danny Gokey: I love this guy (well, as a singer...you know what I mean!). He's definitley got a great voice & I think can touch people through his songs. I don't think he'll win, but my prediction is that he'll be in the Top 3.

~ Matt Whatever-His-Last-Name-Is: Okay, now WHY did he make it into the Top 5? That's just nuts! In my opinion, he didn't sound great at all Tuesday night. Simon was right: Matt was too desperate. But oh well, maybe he'll surprise me.

~ Kris Allen: Great singer! At first I thought he was kind of lame, but that guy can sing!

~ Allison Iraheta: I was sad that she got voted off. :( I wanted her in the top 2, but oh well. She's sure to get a recording contract very soon!

~ Adam Lambert: I predict that Adam will win. Not that I want him to...his screaming is grating on me. Rylie really wants Adam to win, but if she knew what he was really like, then she probably would love to see him get voted off.

What Does One Do? (If Blogger isn't working!!)

So I'm creating a new poll and then I post it on my blog and THEN Blogger says, "Uh, sorry, dude - but this page isn't available so nobody can vote on your poll! Too bad, so sad...deal with it, dude!" (Okay, so it wasn't exactly like that...but still!)

Anyway, maybe I'll just make my own poll here. What color do you like the best (just leave a comment w/ your answer. Don't be scared; leaving a comment isn't that bad! :) lol)

Lilac purple

Aquamarine teal

Pine green

Ocean blue

Ruby red

Black...uh, black :)

My 50th Post!!

Let's all celebrate - this is my 50th post!!
Today I sat outside on our hammock (ahh...I love that hammock. Most of you have heard me say that already!) and read 1 Corinthians 5. (You should read it!) I saw a raven or a crow...I couldn't tell which one...in a tree. It was so big! And when it took off, you could hear the flapping of it's wings. It was really amazing to see that.
All right then, enough with the colors. I prefer one color and one color alone.
I'm back on school tomorrow. (Let's hope I can wake up the appointed time!). I've had a week of sleeping in, so it might have damaged me! :)
Well anyway, I don't have much to say, except...
It's my 50th Post!! :)
Pardon my excitement...

Very Sad News :(

This is very sad news: Roxy passed away. And it was so suddenly - Rylie found her lying on our bathroom floor & she wasn't breathing.

My emotions were everywhere: I went from shocked to angry to sad to that after-sad feeling where you just feel like talking about the good times when the person or animal was alive.

Roxy had been sick for awhile, but Mom and Dad had been giving her special fluids that were supposed to help her. And she had been doing great the past few days - meowing for chicken, jumping up on the dining room chairs, curling up on my bed and purring, so this was extremely unexpected.

Roxy was the last cat to die of four that I've had in my life. (First was Kaboose, who I don't even remember because I was so young when she passed away, then was Cassie, then Sabby, and now Roxy joins her sisters and brother in Heaven.)

Death always reminds me to be very loving to my other pets. Thirty minutes or so after the incident I went downstairs to the office and gave Jodi and Brandi extra attention. They brightened me up a tiny bit: Brandi nosily chewing her favorite bone, Jodi groaning happily as she rolls onto her side.

(Sorry for the abrupt ending, but I don't know how else to end this post.)

April Contest

Hi everybody! All right, so here's an April Newsletter...
1. My 13th birthday is this month! (April 28th)
2. Um...yeah, so that's about it.
The April Newsletter is, to say the least, a little lacking! Please forgive the...uh... lackingness. Okay, so to make April a little more exciting, how about an APRIL CONTEST??
(I'll make this bigger so everyone sees it!)

APRIL CONTEST
So the rules are simple: Simply send me an email or leave a comment listing the top (or top two, or top three!) strangest situation(s) that have ever happened to you. The best will be posted on my blog...so make sure the strange situation(s) isn't (aren't) too personal.
The strange situations can either be funny, odd, etc.

For example...(these didn't actually happen to me)
~ My cat stuck her head in my mouth while I yawned...
~ Five minutes after I was wondering if that letter from my friend would ever come, my sister brought in the mail and there it was!...
~ And so on and so forth...

Also, thanks for voting on my poll! So far I have five votes! I think that next month I'll do another poll. Again, thanks for voting. :)

Oral Interpretation Festival...The Results!

As I anxiously waited in the large auditorium for my name to be called, I strained to see the announcer. Finally, he said into his microphone, "Jordan Coble." Only he pronounced it, "Jordan Cob-lee." Oh well.

I then followed a nice-looking judge into a classroom along with nine or so other kids and their parents. I was thoroughly surprised at how many kids did a Shel Silverstein poem. Mrs. Phelan wasn't joking when she said some kids would recite poems about the strangest things. Some examples (that actually happened; no joke): a boy kissing a girl and calling it addition, or a cat getting hair all over his pants.

And also, what is the deal with needing a hand motion for every word? It got annoying very quickly!

The judge, while she said something nice to every kid, told me that my poem was "WOW" and "remarkable." She also said I should try IT (Imagination Theatre). Then afterwards I got free ice-cream. YUM!

Then Mrs. Phelan announced the results. All kids from Smith Flat (including me!) ranked superior, which is the highest score you can get. I was so happy. :)

We went out for pizza afterwards, and I spent my own money on a silver ring, a racing game (which I could not do to save my life; just ask Mahala, Sidney, Rebekkah, or Rachelle!), and a stupid, weird purple glob thingy. (It was supposed to be a ball, I guess)

But anyway, that was my day at Oral Interp.! I hope I can do it again next year; it was so much fun!!!

Oral Interpretation Festival is Tomorrow!

Oral Interpretation Festival is tomorrow! I am very excited, but at the same time, I can't believe it's happening already! At the festival, I will be performing "The Walrus and the Carpenter" by Lewis Carroll.
More updates after I perform. Wish me luck!

Stone Soup!!

I am SO excited!!! I'm getting published in the magazine "Stone Soup" for my short story, "Mr. Larson's Library!!!"

I found out on Saturday - I was so excited when the letter came in the mail that said, "We have decided to publish your work..." :D I ran around the house screaming my head off!

YAY!! More updates when it gets published in the July/August issue.

How Well Do You Know Me?

How well do you know me? Take this quiz to find out!
(By the way, there is this weird glitch on the last question. The answer should be "The Beginner's Bible", but sometimes the website says the correct answer is "Spot." I don't know... it's odd.)

My School Dance

Okay, so I just had my school dance on Friday & it was really fun (especially because Rebekkah, one of my good friends from school came).
Anyway, Rylie got some good pictures. (Mom didn't get any good
pictures - she got bad ones. lol)
I'll post as many as I can,
but you know what happens when I try to put pictures on here. :) lol - again
I uploaded one - yay for me! :) This is Nick, slow dancing with himself...it was pretty funny. Many thanks to Rylie for getting this picture (she was our photography queen that n
ight).

All right, on to picture #2...this is a picture of Whitney telling me (and Rebekkah, whom you can't see) about how we should protest...they were playing a Miley Cyrus song. :P

Whitney is in 8th grade and she hosts a Bible study at school. She's really nice, and everybody likes her! :)

Can I do a third picture? Let me see...yes, I can! :D
This is one of those bad pictures Mom got.

This is Soren...rather, half Soren.

What's with the tie, dude?

Okay, so I'm pretty pictured out. Enjoy! :D

So What Does What Do...?

So what does one do when you get a good score on your math test and you feel like some kids are jealous of you? I hate that feeling when some people smile at me with that "you're too good for me, and I can never beat you" grin on their faces. It isn't a real smile, it's more of a "Good job (not really)" smile.

Okay, so my Dad has a Facebook account & I found on there a group with people from church! Now I want to know if I can get a Facebook account so I can join that group. Dad and Mom say they'll think about it.

Oral Interpretation Unit

Hello, my name is Jordan Coble. I am in 7th grade and attend Charter Smith Flat. The poem I will be presenting to you today is titled "The Walrus and the Carpenter" by Lewis Carroll...

Those are the words I will be saying on Tuesday (or Thursday). Then I will begin my poem...my 3-page, 18-stanza poem! And it's all memorized. (phew!)

I've worked very hard on this poem, because I really want to get picked to perform my poem during the Oral Interpretation Unit. Then I get to perform it at a presentation festival or something of the sort.

I'm not sure if I'm going to get chosen or not, because my poem is more comical then the sad, dramatic ones most of my friends picked. But then, one day at school, Mrs. Phelan said that each of us would perform their poem in front of her - just her, and no one else - and so I performed "The Walrus and the Carpenter" for her. She said it was really good. YAY!!!! Maybe I will get picked after all! :)

Hey, here's something fun for you guys out there: try to name some other poems by Lewis Carroll. Leave a post and see how many you can name (DO NOT cheat and look on websites listing his poems!) :).
